If I ever tell you I’m going to sleep and then you see me posting or liking things online for about an hour immediately after that, I promise I wasn’t lying to you, I’m just bad at going to sleep and it is usually a long process that begins with disengaging from any sort of immediate contact with people (chats, for example) and ends when everything on my screen is blurry and I’m hallucinating plot points I haven’t written yet

Why Quasimodo is white if he’s parents were gypsy’s?

Let’s talk about this for a minute.  Okay, this analysis might make you tear up a bit, so fair warning.  Is it weird to see two people of Romani descent with a white, red-haired, blue-eyed child?  You’d think the answer would be yes but it’s not.

True, genetics tells us that two people who are brown/black-eyed with black hair will very rarely produce a child with blue eyes and red hair, but it’s not impossible.  Add to that though, that the two people are of Turkish/Romani descent with dark skin and the child in question is clearly light skinned and shares no facial similarities whatsoever to either parent and the probabilities drop even further.  It’s pretty improbable if not completely impossible.

YET, Romani families and groups often had one or two white children or grown family members.  Why is this?  Simply, Romanis bought children.  They would buy children from families who couldn’t afford to keep their recent addition.  They would buy children from young women wishing to hide their bastard child.  They would buy the UNWANTED children whom their parents could see no use for, and they put them to use.  They weren’t always savory uses, but their lives had purposes that their own parents couldn’t see.

Logical conclusion?  The woman we see in the image above did NOT give birth to Quasi.  It’s astronomically unlikely that he is her biological child but extraordinarily likely that she met a woman who had given birth to a “monster” and bought the child from her.

This woman saw something in this misshapen little baby that his own birth mother couldn’t see.

Do you know what happened to most disabled and deformed children in this time period?  Exactly what Frollo was going to do to him.  They were commonly drowned or abandoned in a remote place (often a forest) and left to die.  So in essence this woman that we see here, this courageous, kind, and goodhearted human being saved this baby TWICE, because she saw something special in him.  She saw goodness and potential and a life all his own that she knew was worth saving.  She coddled him, cooed to him, treated him as her own child.

That makes this woman a hero twice over.  She saved him from his own birth mother and gave her life trying to save him from Frollo.

And THAT’S why Quasi is white while his mother was a gypsy.

Tropes in HoND: Badass Damsel

“This trope subverts the Damsel in Distress routine so hard it’s not even funny. A female character who seems like a damsel in distress, and might even be one, but is still Badass enough that the audience roots for her anyway. Maybe she gets kidnapped a couple of times, but makes up for it by pulling an epic Crowning Moment of Awesome. Maybe she has the appearance and personality of The Ingenue yet also has a BFG on her and mows down 85% of the enemies on the battlefield. Perhaps she’s just a Plucky Girl of epic proportions who gets handed a Distress Ball. Or, alternatively, she may never get kidnapped, and could be a genuine Action Girl, but simply doesn’t have the tomboyish, athletic appearance and attitude that most people picture when they think of an Action Girl. Either way, you just can’t help but love this girl. She may get whacked with a Distress Ball every now and again, but blast it all, she’s got skills.”

Let’s see who’s over 18

I’m 15. It was one of my favorite Disney movies growing up.

When I was four, I would wake my mom up in the middle of the night just so she could put the Aristocats in the VHS player.

I’m 25. Your point? I saw it a long time ago.
